Trouble Ticket #5466

Date Submitted: 2017-04-12

Title of e-Resource: WorldCat

Nature of the Problem: Worldcat

Details: I was doing the searches in worldcat to see how many copies the catalogue said we had of each book vs how many we had on the shelf and I'm having a problem where when I search for *some* call numbers in Worldcat the search shows no results. However, if I do the search in the "WMS Tools" call number browse I can find them. Then, if I click on the OCLC number in that interface and go back to the record in Worldcat, the call number is properly in the holdings record. If you copy and paste the call number from the record and search for it, it shows no results.

Example: Q175.5 .S64 1987    Societal issues, scientific viewpoints / Strom, Margaret Ann.
Example: HC103.7 .A7 1966 Conserving natural resources; principles and practice in a democracy / Allen, Shirley Walter.
Example: HD9750.5 .R52 Marketing of forest products: text and cases / Rich, Stuart U.
