Trouble Ticket #12451

Date Submitted: 2020-04-13

Title of e-Resource: MyiLibrary titles redirect

Nature of the Problem: Worldcat

Details: A student reported not being able to access an ebook that is available in MyiLibrary through the catalogue. He was trying to access the 2008 edition of the book 'Public International Law' by John Currie. When he used the links in the catalogue, it took him to version of the MyiLibrary that seems to be focused on or located in the UK.

I tried the same thing and came across the same problem. I went to MyiLibrary directly to gain access to the book, and that worked. After doing that, the problem I experienced in the catalogue was no longer an issue. I tried to replicate it on another computer but I was able to access the book. The problem may have repaired itself but I am reporting the issue just in case. I realized after I went through this that the prompt that normally comes up with I access the catalogue asking me to sign in didn't appear. So that may have been the problem.

Thanks.

Cathy Cotter

Updates

Status: Closed (Fixed)

  • April 14, 2020 9:50 am - Edited

Title changed from 'MyiLibrary' to 'MyiLibrary titles redirect'.

  • April 14, 2020 9:57 am - Edited

Notes: MyiLibrary titles currently re-direct for access in ProQuest Ebook Central, but failed to do so for the user's first attempt at access. The redirects worked fine after that.

However, these titles are long overdue for a URL fix and this ticket is remaining open until the update is complete.
