Series 5, sub-series 2: Sound Recordings of the "UNB Dialect Group" Interviews. -- 1971-1982. -- 33 audio reels, 4 audio cassettes.

Scope and Content: This sub-series contains audio recordings of the various interviews conducted by members of the "UNB Dialect Group". Typically, the interviews consist of the questions and answers from the worksheet, a reading of "Harry's House", and conversation, although in later years, it appears as though sometimes the interviews were focussed solely on the worksheet, and left out "Harry's House" and conversation. The first six files in this sub-series contain the audio recordings of interviews conducted by the founding members of the UNB Dialect Group.

After the initial six tapes, there is often no information recorded on the outside of the tape cases regarding the contents of each side of the tape. It would appear, however, as though the same worksheet is used until file 30. From that point onwards, however, the worksheet changes slightly from that used by the original group, and resembles a form which is also used in projects for Kinloch's English 3030 class in 1988 (series 6).

Arrangement is loosely chronological, following the order of the textual records within the volumes in sub-series 1 of this series.
