Series 4: "Dialect Investigation" Working Papers and Sound Recordings. -- [1968?] -- 12 cm of textual material; 4 audio reels.

Scope and Content: This series contains the results of fieldwork interviews done in Halifax, Saint John and Prince Edward Island in 1968, possibly as a preliminary to the Maritimes Dialect Survey which began in 1969. The fieldworker for the investigation in Saint John and Halifax was A. Murray Kinloch. The fieldworker in the two Prince Edward Island investigations is unidentified but the recordings appear to have been created for the Linguistic Atlas of New England (LANE). The Saint John and Halifax investigations are fully documented with biographical information, audio tapes, phonetic transcriptions of the interviews and names and addresses for contacts and informants in the region. The Prince Edward Island investigations consist of photocopies of the biographical information and phonetic transcription.

Arrangement is arbitrary.
