Scope and Content: This fonds consists of diaries of trips taken overseas by Bill and Jean Argue. Volume one ranges from 1963-1968 and volume two ranges from 1969-1972. Volume one also includes a daily planner. This appears to be a rough draft of the 1963 diary that Jean Argue kept during their stay in London. This planner also contains two pages that Bill Argue wrote regarding New Year's Eve, December 31, 1960.
Within these diaries, Jean Argue comments on the tours that she and her husband take, noting historical buildings and churches, scenery, colleges, and old houses. She also comments on the motels where they stay and the weather conditions that they encounter. Of particular interest were the sheep dog trials in Chester, London, August 28-30, 1969. Jean Argue discusses the sheep dog trials in her diary, noting the training and judging of the dogs. She also kept a programme for these sheep dog trials, which can be found in volume two at the back of the binder.
